Tinderbox Hills

This was day when we were looking after our granddaughter, so it was decided to go for a walk on the TinderBox Hills Track and collect a few caches. First up though was to drop off the redone Travel Bug KLAMMER to a new spot. We hadn’t added Boronia Hill Reserve (Rebirth) to our list and being a regular size made it ideal for the bug.

Our approach to this was through a lane then up a vehicle track, with the GPS suggesting a route through some thick casuarinas. Thinking there must be an easier way to it we kept going uphill until reaching a side pad heading back to the GZ. Once there it was a fairly quick find with the help of Ella our granddaughter. A bird card, as well as the Travel Bug, was deposited.

The Japs are Coming!

After parking the car and being greeted by a friendly land owner, Sue & Peter headed up the Tinderbox Hills Track with granddaughter Ella. We might have even got this one without the hint. In the cache we spied a fancy looking Volvo truck in very good order which we grabbed with our grandson in mind who would be visiting us from Canberra the following week. We reckon he will love it and it might be a few years before he lets us place it in another cache. In exchange we left a bird card and dinosaur.

A few hundred metres up the track from Japs brought us to this one, also from the same owner and incidentally the same type of container. There were not many goodies in here so we took nothing, but left a bird card.

Another kilometre up the track, and there was a bit of up too, brought us to a sign telling us not to walk any further as it was private property ahead; a pity because it looked like more views would be seen. Mind you there did look like plenty of people continued on anyway, but we didn’t need to as our objective was the cache and time was running out. Took nothing and left a bird card and red dinosaur.

Around The Twist

After the Tinderbox Hills walk and finds we met our daughter for lunch at Kingston and thought we just had time to do this one near the duck park. But we didn’t spot it and because we had to collect our other granddaughter from school there was not enough time for more searching. And to think we imagined this one would be easy and quick.
