A Circuit
Today we left the
car in Davey Street and walked through some streets to have a look at the
different houses in the area, ranging from large impressive ones to some small
ones, before joining Romilly Street and the track into the Waterworks. We have been going to go along this way for a
walk for some time now and this was just the chance. Found 'Cup of Tea?' but looked for 'Woody' in
the wrong spot though not dissimilar to where we shortly after find the cache.
The track became
more like a bushwalking one as we continued on past the first reservoir and
then uphill to ' AWwC(OSoV)'. So many tracks here that were unknown to us. On
arriving Sue said she wasn't putting her hand in the suspected cache spot, so
Peter risked it and got out the little box.
Well we were at
least half way up the hill so decided to follow the track to the road above and
the descend to find 'Linear Park #3'.
The problem was that we ended up leaving the track, as it started going
in the wrong direction, and found ourselves above a little cliff with car
zooming past below. However with care we
got down and went down the street to the GZ.
We looked about and followed the hint but were about to give up,
especially as it was now 3PM and Sue was saying it was long past her normal
lunch time. Yes Peter had
underestimated the time the walk would take.
Anyway we thought we might as well push aside an impediment a bit harder
before leaving and lo and behold there it was.
Now it was on to a café and hope they were still serving lunch.
Now to the story on
'Spiral of Archimedes'.
After getting some
help we thought we had the position worked out and headed off to the site. The logs from recent visitors matched where
we were ("searched under rush type plants") and Peter did see what looked like a possible
but unlikely object but on checking it, reasonably closely, reckoned no it
wasn't a cache hide. After a bit more
searching we gave up.
On arriving home Sue perused more logs and
reckons maybe the spot Peter dismissed may in fact really hold the cache. We will have to return to recheck it. Then again we may be wasting our time.
