Rosny to Bellerive shoreline walk

Wednesday, 8 May 2013 Today we walked from Montagu Bay via Rosny Point to the eastern end of Bellerive Beach. We have ridden our bikes along this route in the past, but as Peter had stitches in his back it seemed more prudent to walk. Getting caches took a turn for the worse due to all the workers at the first two sites and there was plenty of them about over the whole journey; however that was the only spot that really stopped the hunt. Perhaps it is all part of the NBN rollout. We did return sooner than planned because at the end of Bellerive beach Peter's shoe sole started to part company with the upper; it only just survived the journey back to the car, with a very flip flop sound by then.

Foreshore Track - Reflections Of …

All the work activity here, including a "stop/go slow" man meant we could not hunt for what was to be the cache for the day.

Foreshore Track - Holy Moley

It took two searches of the hiding spot to feel the container. While we huddled over the log on the track, the workers on the road above, especially the stop/go man had who now had no traffic to manage, started taking particular notice of us. We hovered about but they just seemed to keep watching us; we think their curiosity got too much for them. For some reason no cars wanted to go past, so we gave up the idea of replacing the cache until our return journey. Very sorry for any other cachers who may have come along during the middle of the day (and it looks like there may well have been one)..

Kirstyn's Hideout

The GPS took us right to the spot and Sue soon had it in hand.

Foreshore Track - Fallen

Although our attention went to the wrong size object, but Sue was pretty quick to spot the right location.

Foreshore Track - Go for Broken

Noticed the object that matched the hint and Sue soon found it. Left Peanut Allergy Geocoin

Illawarra's Folly

Soon spotted the pad down and quickly had the cache.

See That V?

GPS took us to the spot and Sue quickly saw the hide.

Kangaroo Kayak Kache 1

Well this is our 400th GC cache. Encouraged by the landlubbers we got it by scrambling on foot. Actually it was a little bit of a struggle for Peter to get it as his back didn't permit full stretching.

Ammo Box

A couple of dog owner muggles to contend with, but had plenty of warning. The hint helped pinpoint the cache and a little bit of untangling was undertaken.

A Gap in the Map

A bit of uncertainty soon evaporated once the cache was spotted.
