The Eastern Shoreline

Wednesday  5 September 2012

We decided to do a few caches on the eastern shore between Bellerive and Howrah. The pleasant sun and temperatures were predicted to deteriorate about midday, so a morning start was made with the finish to be a fish meal at the café at Bellerive Beach.

Victoria Esplanade

The first on the list and when we got the hint in our minds correctly, it did not take Sue long to grab it.

The Russians are Coming!

Up the steps and along the bank soon brought us to the cache, where it was spotted by Sue. Quite a bit of water in the moat.

The Bluff

A woman busy in the garden fronting the street caused us to be a bit cautious. Sue followed the hint and a small laugh meant she had the cache. We liked the hiding method.

Lets Get Physical 2

We walked past this thinking that we may well check it on the way back. On the return trip, someone was at the GZ and left quickly and hopped in a car, so we walked on to the café. After lunch went back and the immediate area was deserted but could not see the said marker tapes (although there was a bit of string out on a branch). As Peter did not fancy climbing, partly in case someone came along, we did not bother any further.

Rock

Sue reckoned she could visualise the container and she was right and soon had it in hand.

Grass

A nifty hide, but Sue had it spotted very quickly.

The log is now full.

Cavernous Cliff

Had a search about, but had to cautious as the tide was not that far away from parts of the rocks. Could not find it where the GPS pointed and Peter went a bit further east but without success.

Scubba

Almost walked past this, but the GPS beeped and Sue soon spotted it.

Film

Finally one found by Peter for the day, but it was only half a find really. There was a log lying on the ground but no container. Peter wondered why it was lying where it was, but then spotted where it came from. We signed the log and placed it back where it was presumed to have come from. No sign of a container anywhere and we can guess what it would have looked like.

However when we walked back later on the log had blown out onto the ground again.

So as a stop gap measure the log book was placed under a block of wood very close by.

What's Brown and Sticky

Looked for a while, but the weather was threatening and nothing out of the ordinary could be spotted.

Wentworth Park: Entices Cartography

We seemed to get to a possible location, but after a short search we gave this way. We may have made a calculation error and a gardener was driving grass cutting machine not far away as well
