Wednesday, 16 October 2013 Walked the Whitewater track on a gradually warming but with the wind also increasing in strength. In fact at one stage Peter's hat blew off and his glasses also got knocked off; unfortunately that meant he couldn't see where they landed and only found them when he realised he had trodden on them. Having new and expensive glasses damaged was not very nice, but at least the lens were not scratched. The Whitewater track was fine enough but as with so many creek systems, that have human development near, the weeds have made big inroads. Rascally's Ouch!! Went too far for this but soon rectified the mistake. Whitewater Wander - Take A Seat Sue quickly found it and most of the time taken was in putting back the log, which is now full. Wednesday, 26 June 2013 The Alum Cliffs track is marked as 2 hours return, but it took us much longer; but stopping for lunch at a beach front café accounts for that. We started at the top end off Sedgebrook Rd and collected the caches along the way. On return we walked along in the northern direction to the final lookout and cache. Alum Cliffs: Have a Seat! When Sue read out the hint. Jenny who was walking with us spotted the location. Left TB Dash to start his journey. Achiever's Cache As we were coming from the top the hint was not so easy to use. Sue approached from a different, though harder, starting point to Peter and arrived first. The container was quite visible from a few metres away and did try to make it less so when replacing. Monday 18 June 2012 The cache “ Around The Twist ” had us a bit frustrated, because others had found it quite quickly and yet even on this return visit we did not stumble on it for several minutes.   On our first visit we hunted around where the GPS told us was and the closest we got to seeing anything likely was a single light coloured rock.  Peter turned it over and declared that it was in fact a real rock and with not much time available we had to cease searching and head off to collect our granddaughter.   After study the logs and seeing people still easily finding it, we thought that our return visit this time would be a cinch.  That rock looked out of place and we felt fitted the clue, so Peter again examined it, more closely this time.  He thought there may be a fake rock with a hidden opening or perhaps a real one that lifted apart.   But no it really was a real and solid rock, even though it was where the GPS pointed. This was day when we were looking after our granddaughter, so it was decided to go for a walk on the TinderBox Hills Track and collect a few caches. First up though was to drop off the redone Travel Bug KLAMMER to a new spot. We hadn’t added Boronia Hill Reserve (Rebirth) to our list and being a regular size made it ideal for the bug.   Boronia Hill Reserve (Rebirth) Our approach to this was through a lane then up a vehicle track, with the GPS suggesting a route through some thick casuarinas. Thinking there must be an easier way to it we kept going uphill until reaching a side pad heading back to the GZ. Once there it was a fairly quick find with the help of Ella our granddaughter.
