Sunday , 10 June 2018 With such a nice day expected we made plans to visit Echo Sugarloaf.  As it is only a short walk  we had plenty of time to stop for a coffee at Cygnet and could include a few geocaches in the day. Echo Sugarloaf from Randalls Bay Eucalypts with track below BANJO's Beach Spotted after a short search, whilst on the way to Echo Sugarloaf.   Came here a few times when our kids were little Caching is not Dead Thought this might be like other Old Saint ones and it was, which helped us find it. Cradoc Park Sue spotted it and we also noted the holly, and vinca which can be nuisance weeds in some locations Echo Sugarloaf Cache got further away as we walked along the track, but of course that changed when the track took a turn. We went for a circuit walk, partly to check on a sensor camera in the area, and took the opportunity to get a couple of caches along the way. Epcaris virgata   a threatened species that grows in the area If You Hide It, They Will Come Sue said there it is, you probably wont be able to see it as you're colour blind. Wednesday 2 January 2013 We went for a walk along the shore area and nearby streets, which included Geilston Bay and Natone Hill.   A Dinkum Dunny Whata beauty this was and brought quite a laugh, just as well no muggles were about. Didn't spot the log at first and thought for a moment that there wasn't one. COTFTF #12 "Sog's Redemption" Didn't take long to spot the hide Flight of the Double Sunrise Collected but the GPS had us searching the wrong big tree. Wednesday 4 July 2012 We had two reasons for walking up beside New Town Creek today; one was to deposit three moveable caches we had recently picked up from Knocklofty. The other was to locate the New Town Rivulet Track series. We started near New Town Rivulet Track #3 , which was quickly found by Sue, despite getting her feet wet crossing the creek. The tiny “ Leaps the Frog ” was dropped off near here. It was then on upstream to #4 where we looked about a bit before Peter spotted a bit of tatty old plastic in a tree, which really was just rubbish, but it did lead his eye to spot the real thing. Upstream further was the one described by some logs as a bit scary and it does have the sub title of “Deadly Peril”; #5 . Although Peter knew full well that it was not real, he nevertheless still jumped a bit when he looked closely in the hidey spot. Well so far so good, but we came crashing down on #6. Thursday 28 June 2012 A message came through that Kirby the Frog could not be found so we planned a walk to check this out. Before going, however, Peter looked at the web site and noticed that several other moveable caches had just been planted in the area, so some of these were downloaded to the GPS. This meant we could check that Kirby was there, collect some more and get in a walk and a stop in Lansdowne Crescent for a coffee. To top that off the day was very pleasantly sunny. Leaving the car near Fielding Drive we were quickly up to the frog ponds on Knocklofty and found that Kirby was in fact at home. Kirby’s hiding place From there it was a short distance to “ Leaps the Frog ” and “ Freddo ” which were both quickly located. “ Woodleigh Gnome ” had been down as one to collect when he was at the Waterworks, but someone beat us, and he was one of those dropped off here. On a trip to Binalong Bay our hope of accumulating the maximum planned caches was thwarted by a day of almost nonstop rain, but fortunately the second full day was fine and gradually improved ending in a lovely sunny afternoon. In fact it became so pleasant it enticed us back to the Binalong Bay Café for a coffee and delicious berry tart As well as us we also had six helpers and this came in very handy with a couple of them being quite enthusiastic. A walk to Grants Point had us scoring eight caches and before driving home on the final morning we collected a four more, as well as dropping off a moveable cache to a new spot. 26 May 2012 This was a walk from the shack south along the Binalong Bay beach to Grants Point.
