Friday , 23 January 2015 It was only a couple on months ago that we walked the lower part of this circuit and since then this series of caches has gone in.  We started at Lanena Street entrance got a couple out that way then followed the numbers in order from there on. 10 Out In The Open, Waverley Walk the cache lived up to its name 11 Within The Trees, Waverley Walk We don’t know if it was because we had sunglasses on, but both looked at the site, where it was eventually found by Sue, twice each.  As a consequence it took us a while to find. 0 Entrance, Waverley Walk It was quick to locate which was just as well with the resident over the fence close. 1 Dead Tree, Waverley Walk Nifty hide and liked the ladybird 2 Old Log, Waverley Walk Another nice ladybird. 3 You CAN Find this, Waverley Walk Sue guessed what to look for here. 4 Fallen Stump, Waverley Walk Another nice ladybird and we liked the outside container. 5 Water Tank, Waverley Walk Spent too much tim...

Wednesday , 30 April 2014 After running out of time two days earlier and with a pleasant weather prediction, we headed off to do the caches that had been planned for the previous trip, plus some more. But it took us so long walking and searching that we ended up still being at Ranelagh after 1 PM and bought lunch at Summer Kitchen baker. It advertises as an organic business and the food and coffee were tasty. Save a cowboy Ride a ??? A light shower was falling, but Sue was able to hop out and quickly bring it back to the car for signing. One Lane Creek 4 Looked where the GPS and logic said, but no sign of it. 4 Corners-2 Found one in this series before so went straight to the the right spot. One Lane Creek 3 Peter went north side and kept his shoes dry, whilst Sue encountered long wet grass on the south approach. The log was so wet it was impossible to sign. Wednesday , 26 February 2014 We decided to take a trip out to the Poimena Reserve to attempt a few caches. A couple of years ago we both recollect walking to the top of the reserve for geocache, but there is nothing on the web and it has us somewhat puzzled; are we mistaken or has it been archived. The caches today were varied and inventive. Flying Saucers We walked up from the bottom car park only to find a council truck with workers inside parked at GZ. We think they may have been waiting for knock off time to lock the gate on the road. Fortunately the cache further up the hill beckoned and after finding that we returned and the truck had gone. Sue suspected where the hide might be and she was correct. It had been popular up here as we were the 5th in the log for the day. Sunday , 16 February 2014 One of the main drivers for looking for caches today was to try again for the Bee cache at Rosny that had eluded us. A trip up through Winifred Curtis Flora Park rounded off the outing. A new park After walking down the path from the flora park it was a quick and easy. Maybe that is why Peter made the find. Dance of the Bee. This had been a struggle to locate and in fact had stopped for a search twice without success. After seeking a clue from OldSaint we returned and this time found the little blighter. Thanks heaps OldSaint, your help was enough to tip the balance. Darwin's Rock It It was a bit surprising that as soon as wee arrived at the spot several cars came in and out of the small road. Eventually things settled down and the search began, but Sue found the right spot and the type of container that she suspected it would be.

Friday , 15 November 2013 The day was split between finishing off the Tranmere group and some newer ones at Lindisfarne It was an ominously bad start with the first 3 as DNFs, but a rescan brought it back to 2 from 3. Eventually we pared that back 1 DNF until adding another later in the day. Quite a few foot kilometres were involved as we drove to a car park for each area and walked to the caches. Dennis Woz Here Walked up from having lunch at Lindisfarne village. The park was a bit on the neglected side, although fortunately the grass had been cut. Froggy Is Not Amused Made a search but it would have been useful to have gloves as protection from the sharp parts of the hiding place. Foreshore Track - Bee Diamonds Took the hard and low approach, but clearly if the tide had not been low this way would have been under water. Took the best way out that we could see, but there was a lots of long grass and stick...

Sunday , 10 November 2013 A morning walk turned into a finish after 2:30 and we hadn't had lunch. A bad start ended with a bad finish but in between we managed to get a decent score along the Tranmere tracks. We are residents of the western shore and whilst standing in sunshine we could look back to our home front near the mountain to see showers falling. Wise Men 2 We had two tries at this, the first search for the day but without success and lots of dog owning muggles about. On the return walk we looked from near the path, then read a few logs to discover it was a bit further away than an arms length. Bus Stop Nano Found as described, but could not extract log, even with tweezers. Concreate Took a bit of searching made harder by all the activity about, including a swimming race. A great container. Left a TB. Post Cap Saw a spot that matched the hint and also read the August 2013 log entry mentioning that a tool was needed to get at the cache. We couldn't budge anything so...

Wednesday, 16 October 2013 Walked the Whitewater track on a gradually warming but with the wind also increasing in strength. In fact at one stage Peter's hat blew off and his glasses also got knocked off; unfortunately that meant he couldn't see where they landed and only found them when he realised he had trodden on them. Having new and expensive glasses damaged was not very nice, but at least the lens were not scratched. The Whitewater track was fine enough but as with so many creek systems, that have human development near, the weeds have made big inroads. Rascally's Ouch!! Went too far for this but soon rectified the mistake. Whitewater Wander - Take A Seat Sue quickly found it and most of the time taken was in putting back the log, which is now full. Wednesday, 22 May 2013 We had a couple of hours free before meeting our daughter so decided on a Lindisfarne walk past the new caches. Old time seat We did sit on the seat as suggested and had the container after a bit of searching at the spot. Beacause I Can We had seen a container like this quite recently so that helped make it a quick find. The Park We saw a pack of walkers approaching and made a dash to locate this before they got close. Took a little searching and Peter also had to take care not to get poked in the eye from the pointy sag leaves. Beltana (Lindisfarne) Park We kept looking around the big tree then reread the description and after that Sue was soon on to the cache. A muggle was sitting in the park eating lunch and would have been sure to be wondering what we could be doing. Thursday  4 April 2013  We had planned to go for a walk on the mountain, but delays forced a rethink and a walk around Hobart past a few caches was the outcome. Not unexpectedly, muggles were everywhere. AC/DC: Who made who We discovered the likely hiding spot which matched the hint, but a search did not locate the container. Even stretching in as far the Peter's arm would allow failed to come up with anything. Ghost Tour of Hobart #4 Penitentiary Chapel As luck would have it a tour was just taking place right at the GZ, so we had to wait about looking at the historic features. There was also building works going on a few metres away in the emergency services building. Hobart Rivulet : Do Not Enter This took a lot of searching. Saturday 26 January 2013 We were going to the Salamanca Market and decoded to look for a few caches in the area. After parking in battery point our path took us through Princess Park and we made a diversion to St Davids Park and also around the waterfront. This route brought us to close to several caches.   Nelson's signal Worked out stage one for this on way. Remainder will have to wait another day when we are in the second stage area. Antarctica TB Transit Lounge This was reached with very few people nearby, despite it being market day. Sue had the container spotted as a little bit was visible. Although lots of travel bugs were listed they had all gone. Thursday 20 September 2012 A batch of caches was noted in the bush surrounding the college on Mount Nelson. We plotted a circuit walk, well mostly as there was one bit of retracing steps. In all it was a decent afternoons walk totalling some 6.5 kilometres.   Fused An interesting cache and we knew we were in the right spot because there were two stickers on the ground with Jules Direen printed on them. Eventually the container was spotted, just had to be looking in right direction from the correct angle.   Lean on me We could see the location from the cache name and the hint as we got closer and it didn't take long to find it. Left Travel Bug Artie Ziff   Water Main Followed the wide track until reaching a rougher track down to where we could see a post that signalled the GZ, which was confirmed by the GPS. Monday 17 September 2012 We parked at the upper dam at the Waterworks and walked over the hills to Tolmans and went to look for the "Save My Bacon" near the school sports centre and then made an attempt on "another bridge" before heading back.  We got Bacon but failed on the bridge one. Save My Bacon After a scout about we spotted a site that matched the hint. The GPS reading where we found it was S 42° 55.002 E 147° 18.504 another bridge Spent a bit of time looking but didn't spot it.

Wednesday 4 July 2012 We had two reasons for walking up beside New Town Creek today; one was to deposit three moveable caches we had recently picked up from Knocklofty. The other was to locate the New Town Rivulet Track series. We started near New Town Rivulet Track #3 , which was quickly found by Sue, despite getting her feet wet crossing the creek. The tiny “ Leaps the Frog ” was dropped off near here. It was then on upstream to #4 where we looked about a bit before Peter spotted a bit of tatty old plastic in a tree, which really was just rubbish, but it did lead his eye to spot the real thing. Upstream further was the one described by some logs as a bit scary and it does have the sub title of “Deadly Peril”; #5 . Although Peter knew full well that it was not real, he nevertheless still jumped a bit when he looked closely in the hidey spot. Well so far so good, but we came crashing down on #6. Thursday 28 June 2012 A message came through that Kirby the Frog could not be found so we planned a walk to check this out. Before going, however, Peter looked at the web site and noticed that several other moveable caches had just been planted in the area, so some of these were downloaded to the GPS. This meant we could check that Kirby was there, collect some more and get in a walk and a stop in Lansdowne Crescent for a coffee. To top that off the day was very pleasantly sunny. Leaving the car near Fielding Drive we were quickly up to the frog ponds on Knocklofty and found that Kirby was in fact at home. Kirby’s hiding place From there it was a short distance to “ Leaps the Frog ” and “ Freddo ” which were both quickly located. “ Woodleigh Gnome ” had been down as one to collect when he was at the Waterworks, but someone beat us, and he was one of those dropped off here.
