Lindisfarne Bayside Walk
Wednesday, 22 May 2013
We had a couple of hours free before meeting our daughter so decided on a Lindisfarne walk past the new caches.
We did sit on the seat as suggested and had the container after a bit of searching at the spot. We had seen a container like this quite recently so that helped make it a quick find. We saw a pack of walkers approaching and made a dash to locate this before they got close. Took a little searching and Peter also had to take care not to get poked in the eye from the pointy sag leaves. We kept looking around the big tree then reread the description and after that Sue was soon on to the cache. A muggle was sitting in the park eating lunch and would have been sure to be wondering what we could be doing.Well we got close to Anzac Park at Lindisfarne and went to the spot that the GPS took us. The description talked about a gun and the hint was quite specific. However as hard as we tried we could see no gun. We could see a spot that may well have had one recently. See the attached photo.
Now where is that big gun?
Well we got close to Anzac Park at Lindisfarne and went to the spot that the GPS took us. The description said the cache is located on a gun that marks the entrance to ANZAC park Lindisfarne. It's a 25 pounder, which were used during the 2nd world war. And the hint was even more specific. As hard as we tried we could see no gun and thought that the size of these nanos is just getting to a ridiculous stage, when the location is a wee nano; goodness knows how tiny the container must be. However, we could see a spot that may well have a gun recently. See the attached photo. The hint helped a lot. We took the pathtag
