A Lutana Loop

Friday 22 March 2013 With New Town bay #4 back on line we decided to do a loop walk through Lutana to Prince of Wales Bay and back via Moonah. A 7 kilometre walk. Lutana is an area we hadn't walked through before and we got a surprise to find a pocket of houses all with that rough cement rendering that was used 50 years ago or more. Some were single story and others double and were probably built by the zinc works for employees. New Town Bay #4 After learning this was back online we went to complete the series. Took a while to get the removal implement working at the right spot. But once we had it there was a new log. Not Winnie the Pooh On approaching the site we realised why the name was chosen. Spotted a likely hiding place but had a bit of delay getting into it. A Barad Puzzle

Thursday 24 January 2013 Powerful Chemical Conundrum 12 After reading that this area has an endangered plant (Velleia paradoxa) we decided it might be a good spot to place a cache.  The first thing to do though was locate where the Barad Bunch cache lay so we could be the requisite distance away.   On reading the description we realised that unless a map was taken and a compass we probably wouldn't be able to work out the first position needed. Our first excursion involved finding the poles and the numbers on them.  Peter didn't think to get a GPS reading of the position of the poles, so had to make the best estimate using Google Erath and some map software. Today we went over to the reserve again hopefully with location of the first container in the GPS.  As we arrived Peter discovered his paper with the information and for writing any further clues had been left behind.
