Friday , 21 February 2014 The caches along the near the bike track between Cornelian Bay and the Botanical gardens had been in for over a month, but despite not living all that far away we hadn't got around to looking until today. Lots of bikes whizzing past during the time we were on the track and the return we switched the walking track which now has an entry point at the eastern end. In all a bit over 3k round trip. HBT Branching Out We had a fairly good idea what to look for but it still took a time to locate. The GPS was pointing to a different object but when Sue moved north she soon spotted it. HBT Bridge to Nowhere Sue looked at the web and said this was disabled, but when Peter looked a few minutes later it had just been enabled; a bit of luck there. Thursday , 16 January 2014 We went for a walk after parking the car in Giblin Street and began by taking a laneway at the very top of that street and walking through to the Mount Stuart playground, then over to Len Wall park and further downhill to Valentine and Carlton streets. By the time we finished it felt quite warm and a lunch stop at Augusto Café was called for. Playground series #3 We had in mind the comment in JABs log about something "out of place", but a fair amount of time was pent looking without success. Some kids came through to the play equipment but didn't seem bothered by us roaming about peering. Leonard Wall Valley Street Reserve On approaching the site a ute was parked at the entrance and the resident next to the park was stowing prunings for a trip to the tip. 23/04/2013  We had been contemplating going on a bike ride from New Town into the city to collect the HBT series and today was it. It was school holidays and also close to lunch time, so the bike track has a lot of muggles, including council and services maintenance workers. HBT Under the Bridge A cyclist stopped to ask what we doing, and was told the answer; well what else can you say? HBT Wall Spent a lot of time looking whilst heading to town and even looked at objects that were eventually found to match the hiding cover. What threw us was the supposed 'give away' sign, because we saw what could be it and searched there, then gave up and continued on our way. However on the return ride we spotted what at first looked to be the sign, then perhaps wasn't as it was so faint. But it was and then the remainder of the hint items were revealed. Friday 22 March 2013 With New Town bay #4 back on line we decided to do a loop walk through Lutana to Prince of Wales Bay and back via Moonah. A 7 kilometre walk. Lutana is an area we hadn't walked through before and we got a surprise to find a pocket of houses all with that rough cement rendering that was used 50 years ago or more. Some were single story and others double and were probably built by the zinc works for employees. New Town Bay #4 After learning this was back online we went to complete the series. Took a while to get the removal implement working at the right spot. But once we had it there was a new log. Not Winnie the Pooh On approaching the site we realised why the name was chosen. Spotted a likely hiding place but had a bit of delay getting into it. Tuesday 18 December 2012 A bit of a mixed day which started to get frustrating, but eventually yielded a better result than it liked like becoming. We found the first cache then couldn’t find the next two and although finding the last in a series could not get at the log. Then at a location at Cornelian Bay we think we found the spot where the multi-cache would have been, but no container.   New Town Bay #1 The spot where we opted to park was right at the site of the first in this series, and it was quick to spot, especially if standing back far enough.   New Town Bay #2 Looked around the garden bed where the GPS indicated until Peter saw a green rubbish bin with slat surrounds that reminded him of a lantern. Looking here and there failed so it was off to the next cache then on return Sue went back to the garden and soon spotted the container. Sunday 9 December 2012 Mary MacKillop - New Town Once the GPS settled down to an accurate reading we noticed the likely location for the hide and Sue soon noticed  a well covered spot. Why Bother? This bit of parkland could do with a bit of attention to make it more attractive.  Anyway Sue picked out the spot as soon as we entered the bottom of the area and it proved to be correct.  However she was averse to putting her hand near the hiding place and left that task to Peter. 

The final cache for the day was third time lucky for us, being Swimming Hole , which was finally found. Earlier in the afternoon we parked our car in Carlton Street outside the Jean-Pascal Patisserie enjoyed a coffee and a small Black Forest cake all of which passed muster easily. From there we walked down to Risdon Road to locate Don't get Muggled which had some intriguing log entries, including some that wondered how ever the cache could remain where it was without getting removed by a muggle. You do have to watch out for the passing traffic and our case, it was not just the cars that had to be contended with, but a couple with a young kid who walked past close to where we were we had moved to fill in the log. The bloke dropped his shopping including lot of bread rolls about a metre and half from us.
