Wednesday , 21 September 2016 We had reason to visit the Huon, on what started as cloudy as forecast but eventually ended up sunny and quite warm; we were overdressed for the conditions. After getting the final cache on our list at Franklin, we passed the multifaceted post office cum coffee shop where all was quiet when we stepped inside., but within a few minutes the very obliging woman running it was swamped with customers whilst she made our coffee.  But they all seemed happy to wait and chat to each other.. Tricky Landing Sue said what about that and it was. It nearly beat us as our thought was a bison tube would be hanging.  Quite clever. Franklin Caravan Looked for a while before giving up. We went for a circuit walk, partly to check on a sensor camera in the area, and took the opportunity to get a couple of caches along the way. Epcaris virgata   a threatened species that grows in the area If You Hide It, They Will Come Sue said there it is, you probably wont be able to see it as you're colour blind. Merton, Wellington Park Post Haste Easy enough to spot so long as on the right side of the fence.

Monday , 15 August 2016 Darknstormy's Slice Of Heaven Just couldn’t open this green tube, wasn't strong enough. Uloudra Found whilst doing  the Caves circuit walk timed to finish for sunset views of Rawnsley Bluff and Chace Range. Clem Squared Corner A very nifty hide, first time that we have seen one hidden like this. Beds are burning Thought it would be in this sort of spot, but it took a few minutes to locate all the same. Rawnsley Park Station Kept looking at the main object that seemed the most likely spot and about to give up when Sue looked elsewhere. Rawnsley Bluff Raven's Nest Fortunately Sue looked at her GPS before we had walked past on the way to the top of the hill, where we assumed it would be. Sunday , 17 July 2016 It was a nice sunny and calm winter day and a good opportunity for a stroll at Waverley Flora Park.  We suddenly remembered there were some new geocaches there since our last visit, so a quick scan and a download to the GPS's and we were off. Discovered a new track whilst there as well. 12 You CAN Find this (Ver. 2.0), Waverley Walk Took a very steep climb off a lower track circling well down from the top and never met a soul during the walk until arriving at the cache site.  Two people walking with dogs suddenly appeared coming from both directions.  Again a very nifty cache design. 3 Lynched byson, Waverley Walk Didn't find at the first couple of spots but eventually got there. Xtra cache , Waverley Walk Bonus Walked on the new track before discovering we would have to go cross country 30 metres.  Whata nice design for a geocache container. Tuesday , 28 June 2016 A Monumental Expedition We could remember getting a cache here before and discovered this was a replacement. We thought we would have a coffee at the café but it was closed on a Tuesday. Conical chronicle Noticed a track to the shore but then found this was not the ideal way at all but once a better approach pad was found it was much easier.  Left a TB. First time we have seen one of this type of container which was nice and dry inside so must seal up well. Vee to me Spotted location, but was busy looking for State Permanent Marker and didn’t check it at first. Although the cache was found the marker wasn’t. Somflin #1 Easy enough to find as was expected for this first one of the series. Somflin #2 Did not tax us too much as it did not require any calculations. Wednesday , 25 May 2016 The Great Divide The surroundings were rather damp as Peter hugged the platform to retrieve the cache. Signed the log, dropped the cache returning it to hidey hole, found it again and replaced Lord Nelson Looked although GPS had trouble, but even with the hint we couldn’t locate it.  The falls were good though with lots of water flowing. QUEENSTOWN'S 99 Bends An easy find at our lunch spot overlooking the town. Fatman South Found by Sue as we waited for the barge. GPS was jumping about a bit before eventually settling. Fatman North An easy but well-hidden cache. Whyte River 1 Sue said that log looks slippery but Peter ventured over safely. Tuesday , 12 April 2016 We were making the most of a good weather forecast and  going to spend a few days bushwalking near Lake StClair and collected a few caches on the journey there and back. Shadow Lake and Mount Rufus Rufus Mt ST650 Did the circuit walk from Shadow Lake; a fabulous walk in lovely weather. Tassies Belly Button Trig Point (ISA Monument Bronte) ST715 With GC cache close by it seemed a good idea to do this monumnet. Bellevue Tier MWT ST711MWT As there was a GC cache here we decided that we might as well get this trig as well. Bronte Lagoon Area ST543 Collected on way from Bronte village. Lawrenny We found this cache on our way to Lake St Clair area for a couple of days. Although we have driven this road many times we have never noticed this grand old house, Lawrenny.
